“Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.”
-Julie Andrews

Never underestimate the power of perseverance. It doesn't have to be discouraging to recognize that success doesn’t often happen on a first attempt. Instead, it can be inspiring and motivating to realize that accomplishments may take multiple tries and a lot of work. By never giving up, and holding onto the awareness that over time your hard work will pay off, you can develop the ability to keep striving for your achievements even if you have to try again and again.

When you feel like you just keep failing at something no matter how hard you try, remember that improvement ALWAYS takes time. It’s never easy to make big progress- but what’s important is to keep making small steps until suddenly you realize you’ve made it to your goal. Instead of thinking of every time you haven’t yet reached your goal as a “failure,” try re-imagining these attempts as opportunities to gather the skills you do need to achieve success and even grow on the way there. Each attempt brings you more knowledge of what does and doesn’t work. You are not starting over; you already have the strong foundation you’ve built with all your hard work up to this point. Even if you don’t succeed the first time you try, all the attempts you make will add up to eventual accomplishment. Everything you learn along the way, no matter how small, is an accomplishment and success all on its own!

Perseverance and patience go hand in hand. Often, the difference between failing and succeeding is simply patience and a dedication to keep trying, even when something seems out of reach at first. Remember to have patience with yourself as you work toward your goals, keep trying your best, and remember you can accomplish incredible things!

Have a wonderful and inspired week!
